Scott Hankins, President, PT, MPT

PDF

hankinsScott graduated from Southwest Baptist University in 1999 with a Masters in Physical Therapy. He specializes in orthopedic rehabilitation of all ages as it relates to spine and joint problems. He is also the only licensed physical therapist in Jackson County who is certified in Active Release Technique (ART), a soft tissue technique that releases the adhesions at the site of neuro-muscular pain due to repetitive strain, mechanical injury, or post-operative injury. He is also proficient in manual therapy of the spine and peripheral joints that cause pain and stiffness.

Scott is well-researched in aquatic therapy and believes in its powerful effects on the human body as it relieves pain, decreases biomechanical flaws, and readies injured tissues for release and healing. He has also studied the athlete's response to combined aquatic and land training and believes in its superiority over exclusive traditional land-based training. He is also studied in biomechanics of the human body in relation to everyday functioning as he incorporates the patient's unique movement patterns into their care.

Scott believes in maximizing patient function through constant communication. This can only be done through intense one-on-one sessions that allow the patient and provider maximum opportunity to work together toward understanding the desired functional outcome.
